Lucy contacted me looking for a photographer for her wedding in Pentwater, which made me super ecstatic since I grew up close to there and knew the area quite well. We were able to meet up ahead of time while she finalized her plans, which only made me more excited about getting to do their wedding!

Once the wedding day finally came, we were treated to PERFECT, and I mean PERFECT weather. September is usually pretty reliable if you’re looking for great weather. Plus the sky was incredible! Thank goodness I had just gotten new high powered lighting so that I was able to capture some great beach bridal party portraits. In fact, this is now one of my favorite types of portraits to do – wide and dramatic shots with popping skies!

After the ceremony and beach photos, we headed off to Iris Hills on their trolley. Guests were treated to cocktail hour by the pool, and later a delicious dinner under an open air tent by their event barn. Lucy, Jon, and their guests were so gracious and energetic that the day flew by, and before I knew it, it was 11:30 PM and time to go home. Time flies when the party is lit!
